Bullying has become a serious problem in the last few years as the number of students experiencing it has increased alarmingly. Using the internet, bullies have more opportunities to mock students through cyberbullying. This includes sending crude pictures and slanderous messages. Bullying can distort one's personality and it is able to cause embarrassment and a feeling of insecurity to people who are normally confident. What is more, bullying victims become sad and depressed and often powerless to change their situation.
There are numerous ways a victim can deal with such an incident. Bullies gain satisfaction from making others feel weak and uncomfortable, so reacting to them will only encourage them further. This means that one should stop looking oppressed and hurt in order to avoid fulfilling the bully's feeling of satisfaction. Secondly, students should report all incidents to an authority figure. It is important to communicate with people to lead problems to an end. Children should consult their parents, school teachers, the principal or anyone who can deal with such an issue and as a result keep their safety secured.
